September Virtual Power Lunch: Contingent Faculty Advocacy!

Our September session will focus on the status of contingent faculty in our state and the steps we can take as a profession to protect and empower all our colleagues.

We are proud to welcome Kristin Halvorson as our featured guest speaker. Kristin holds an M.A. in History from the University of Charleston/The Citadel and an M.A. in Egyptology from the University of Chicago. She currently teaches as an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston and the University of Minnesota—Duluth. With more than 14 years of teaching experience across three institutions, she will share her perspective on navigating the adjunct world and the broader implications for faculty labor.

Power Lunches are open to workers across South Carolina’s colleges and universities and are designed to build solidarity, share critical information, and foster discussion on the challenges facing higher education
