AAUP–SC invites higher ed workers across South Carolina to our Virtual Power Lunches to build solidarity, share critical information, and foster discussion. The February 2026 Power Lunch will discuss legislation and policy in Columbia that impacts higher education in the state, and how we can work together to safeguard academic freedom and improve both working conditions and student learning conditions.

We are proud to welcome the following guest speakers:

  • Courtney Thomas is the Advocacy Director at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of South Carolina.

  • Delilah Clark is an At-Large Member of the AAUP-SC Executive Council, Co-Chair of AAUP-SC Committee R on the Relationship of Higher Education to Government, and Vice President of the Francis Marion AAUP chapter, where she teaches English and directs the Writing Center.

  • Colby King is an At-Large Member of the AAUP-SC Executive Council, Co-Chair of AAUP-SC Committee R, and teaches sociology at the University of South Carolina Upstate.
