AAUP's Governing Council voted unanimously to sanction Spartanburg Community College for "substantial noncompliance with widely accepted standards of academic government." This sanction comes after a full report on Spartanburg Community College from AAUP's Investigative Committee. A copy of the report can be found here: https://www.aaup.org/file/Spartanburg-Investigating-Report.pdf .

The AAUP issues sanctions for the purpose of informing Association members, the profession at large, and the public that unsatisfactory conditions of academic government exist at the institutions in question. A full list of sanctioned institutions can be found here: https://www.aaup.org/our-work/shared-governance/sanctioned-institutions .
